New Year's Eve can seriously undermine your health if you follow harmful advice that is gaining popularity in society.
The most important thing in the pre-holiday days is to maintain your usual daily routine and follow the principles of healthy eating.
Antonina Starodubova, chief nutritionist at the Moscow Department of Health, told Interfax in an interview what you shouldn’t do before the New Year.
To maintain health, doctors recommend avoiding bad habits and not listening to harmful advice.
First of all, diets
Doctors are categorically against restrictive diets and fasting.
On the contrary, before the holidays you should prepare your body for overload and stress.
Following a healthy diet will help strengthen your immune system and maintain your health.
It is necessary to not only observe the time of meal intake, but also control the portion sizes.
The main rules are “moderation, balance and variety.”
Secondly, caloric content
On the very eve of the New Year, the diet becomes mandatory.
But at the same time, you need to prepare a low-calorie lunch, for example, vegetable soup.
It is essential to have dinner no later than 6-7 pm, preparing a light snack or vegetables.
This way you can avoid overeating during the holiday.
Thirdly, alcohol
But you shouldn’t start celebrating and drinking alcohol right on the morning of December 31st.
This habit is fraught with poisoning and injury.
To improve your health on January 1, doctors advise drinking more clean water, you can use brine, but it is better to avoid alcohol.
