Anyone who wants to start a healthy lifestyle or just adjust their waist size to their favorite clothing size can choose a diet for themselves on the Internet.

But not all programs praised in society guarantee such results.

Are diets useful? In an interview with Healthy Nutrition , nutritionist at the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution “Federal Research Center for Nutrition and Biotechnology” Natalia Nikolaevna Denisova spoke about this.

Dangerous Diet

According to Denisova, most trendy diets are extremely unbalanced, and she calls the keto diet the most dangerous.

The fact is that it contains almost no carbohydrates (the main source of energy), but a lot of fats and proteins.

At the same time, it affects the blood vessels and kidneys and causes a bad mood.

Don't eat after six

As for the time limitation of food intake – not eating after six, this theory implies “intermittent fasting”.

But the rumors that food eaten after 6:00 pm turns into fat are just another myth.

The main goal is to eat 2-3 hours before going to bed.

And if the time interval between meals is 6-8 hours or more, then the metabolism slows down, and the person begins to gain weight.

Fasting days

The specialist has nothing against this practice. It can be used to boost metabolism.

But there should not be more than 2-3 fasting days per week, and especially not several days in a row.

Starvation

But fasting, according to the specialist, is only permissible under the supervision of a doctor and after a full medical examination.
