How to pickle lard deliciously
For one kilogram of lard you will need: 500 grams of salt, 150 grams of sugar, 5-6 cloves of garlic, 3 bay leaves, a teaspoon of sweet paprika (with a slide), a teaspoon of ground black pepper (without a slide) and a teaspoon of hops-suneli (without a slide).
Dip pieces of lard in sugar and wrap in parchment paper (not for baking).
In this form, put the lard in the refrigerator for 12 hours. After this time, rinse the lard with cold water and dry it with napkins.
Mix chopped bay leaf, black pepper, paprika, chopped garlic, hops-suneli and salt. You need to use regular salt, you can't use iodized salt.
Sprinkle the lard with the curing mixture and wrap it in parchment paper again.
In this form, put the lard in the refrigerator for a week. Then you can wash off the salt and store it in the freezer.
