It has been noticed that dogs and their owners have something in common, but it is not clear where this trait comes from.
The coincidence is observed in external signs and even in character or behavior.
British scientists tried to explain this phenomenon.
To do this, the participants in the experiment were shown images of a dog with a person. Among them were pictures of real owners and dogs, as well as a montage.
When evaluating the images, people gave the most accurate results when the eyes of the animal and person were open.
If they were retouched or hidden, the accuracy of the answer was reduced by half.
Further conclusions were made that people themselves tend to look for a dog in which they see something of themselves.
This is done not only with animals, but also when making new acquaintances. From a scientific point of view, the phenomenon is explained by the effect of exposure.
It is expressed in a person’s habit of surrounding himself with familiar objects.
But as for dogs and their owners, they are similar to each other not only in their external features, but also in their behavior.
