The right neighborhood on the site can help out at the most unexpected moment. Don't brush off useful advice.
It has long been noted that correctly selected crops protect plants from diseases, pests and increase yields.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, told what to plant next to garlic.
You can not only plant these crops next to each other, but even practice combined plantings.
Neighbors for the garlic harvest
1. Sage is considered a unique plant. It drives away insect pests and onion flies in particular.
You don’t have to worry about the harvest – it will grow without chemicals.
2. Carrot. They even call it an ideal neighbor for garlic. The root vegetable does not compete with garlic, it makes the soil looser, which garlic really likes.
3. Onion. Both onion crops have nothing against each other. They have similar requirements for soil quality and care conditions.
4. Parsley. Another simple way to increase the yield of garlic, as curly greens contain substances that have a positive effect on the growth and development of garlic.
Also, carrot and onion flies don’t like parsley.
You can sow dill or basil with the same success.
