Why Your Diet Isn't Working? The Answer Is in Your Plate

Have you tried different nutrition systems, but none of them gave sustainable results?

It may not be a lack of willpower, but the color of the food on your plate.

It sounds strange, but research confirms this: the shades of food affect appetite and feelings of satiety.

Let's take red and yellow, for example. These colors are subconsciously associated with fast food (remember the logos of famous chains).

They stimulate the appetite and make you eat faster.

Blue, on the other hand, is considered a natural “stop signal”: there are few edible products of this shade in nature.

Try switching to blue dishes or adding blue elements to your meals (such as berries or kale) to help you cut down on portions without any effort.

But color isn't the only factor. Plate size also plays a role. Larger plates make you serve more food, even if you're not hungry.

An experiment showed that people eat 30% less when they use dessert plates instead of standard ones.

A deceptively full small plate is more psychologically satisfying than a half-empty large one.

And another secret: a combination of textures. If all the food in a meal is soft (for example, mashed potatoes and a cutlet), you will quickly feel bored and want more.

Add crunchy vegetables, nuts or seeds—the variety of textures will trick your brain into feeling full even with less food.
