The increasingly popular carnivore diet poses a deadly danger.
Nutritionist Albina Komissarova warned about this.
The expert explained the dangers of following a carnivore diet in her Telegram channel.
What is the harm of the carnivore diet?
Adherents of this diet claim that humans are not omnivores, but carnivores, and consume only animal products - meat, fish, seafood, eggs, and some dairy products.
Cereals, vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds are completely excluded.
What is the danger? As Komissarova explained, since the diet consists exclusively of saturated fats, the level of "bad" cholesterol increases.
Such a diet increases the risk of strokes and heart attacks many times over, the nutritionist warned.
Secondly, excessive consumption of red meat increases the risk of developing colorectal cancer.
Thirdly, refusing to eat vegetables, fruits and grains threatens nutritional deficiencies.
Gut microbiota and regular bowel movements will say goodbye, Komissarova noted.
In addition, the nutritionist added, the carnivore diet can trigger an eating disorder.
