Sweets are extra and empty calories, the specialist stated.

An excess of simple carbohydrates, Rusakova warned, is fraught with obesity and diabetes.

In addition, sugar is harmful to dental health, the expert added.

According to her, you can reduce your cravings for sweets with the help of protein products: cottage cheese, eggs, poultry, fish, seafood.

As the doctor explained, the above-mentioned products slow down the absorption of carbohydrates, which prolongs the feeling of satiety.

Rusakova also recommended eating more vegetables and fruits. Unlike sweets, they contain many vitamins and acids.

In addition, vegetables and fruits contain a lot of dietary fiber, due to which the glucose from them is absorbed more smoothly.
