Breakfast should be balanced and contain enough protein, healthy fats and complex carbohydrates.
Gastroenterologist Ekaterina Kashukh spoke about this.
Her recommendations are cited by Life.ru.
What should a healthy breakfast be like?
As Kashukh explained, according to the general principles of rational nutrition, there should be 4 meals a day with an interval of 4-5 hours.
The daily calorie intake should be distributed as follows: 25% – breakfast, 20% – second breakfast, 35% – lunch, 20% – dinner.

This balance is especially important for those who watch their weight, the gastroenterologist emphasized.
Breakfast should be balanced and contain enough protein, healthy fats, and complex carbohydrates.
This could be whole grain porridge, scrambled eggs or an omelette, cheese, cottage cheese, Kashukh gave examples.
According to her, since animal protein takes longer to digest, meat and fish should be eaten for breakfast and lunch so as not to overload the gastrointestinal tract in the evening.
Harmful foods – sweets, baked goods, chips – should also be consumed in the first half of the day.
Such food should make up a maximum of 10-15% of the daily diet, the expert added.
