Sweets and weight loss are incompatible – even a beginner knows this. Only nutritionists say that sweets come in different varieties, and some even help fight excess weight.
We are talking about marshmallows, which are healthier than chocolate and do not harm your figure as much.
Nutritionist and medical science candidate Elena Solomatina spoke to Radio 1 about the benefits of marshmallows in the fight against excess weight.
Benefits of Marshmallows
The nutritionist does not idealize marshmallows. She noted that they contain sugar, which means that the product is not harmless to health.
But compared to other sweets, the benefits of marshmallows are obvious.
Marshmallow on a diet
Firstly, in addition to sugar and molasses, it contains useful thickeners. These are agar-agar, gelatin and pectin.
Gelatin is good for nails and joints.
Agar-agar helps remove toxins, as well as excess sugar, fats and other harmful substances.
“Pectin is actually the same fiber that is good for the immune system,” but marshmallows must have an apple base, the nutritionist emphasized.
Secondly, Elena Solomatina noted that the marshmallow whips well, it contains a lot of air and the product seems voluminous.
Therefore, with the help of marshmallows it is easier and more useful to deceive the body than with the help of other sweets.
Besides, compared to sweets, cakes and pastries, marshmallows are clearly healthier. They are not as caloric and one marshmallow will not cause any harm.
Contraindications
But people prone to high glucose levels, diabetics and those who are overweight are not recommended to eat marshmallows, the nutritionist warned.
