On air of his author's program on the Rossiya channel, Myasnikov recommended including nuts in the daily diet.
According to the doctor, nuts lower cholesterol levels and prevent the development of atherosclerosis and dementia.
The specialist clarified that walnuts are especially beneficial for the brain, and almonds are the best for preventing cardiovascular diseases.
Myasnikov advised making it a rule to eat 50-60 grams of nuts a day, but not salted or roasted.
He noted that nuts are one component of an ideal diet, which also includes fruits, vegetables, chocolate, garlic, fish and red wine.
