If you need to make a quick dinner, sausages are the first thing that comes to mind.

However, store-bought semi-finished products do not always taste good.

For this case, the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, chef Yulia Arkhipova, has several secret tricks that help make even a cheap product tastier.

To do this, she advises putting not only the sausages themselves, but also other ingredients into a pot of water.

Salt

Perhaps the most obvious thing to do in this situation is to add a little salt to the water.

The main thing is not to overdo it, so as not to end up with an oversalted dish. As the saying goes: undersalted on the table, oversalted on the back.

Spices

To enrich the taste of sausages, try boiling them together with spices.

A harmonious combination is obtained if peppercorns, bay leaf, and allspice are present in the pan. A small amount of coriander is allowed.

Onions and garlic

Make broth, and, accordingly, sausages, onion and garlic added to water. You can put the onion whole, uncut, and it is better to crush the garlic.

Bouillon cube

You can add a cube of any flavor – meat or vegetable. In any case, sausages cooked in this way will be more appetizing than their “brothers”.

Green

To add freshness and additional aroma to the dish, you will need dill, parsley, thyme or other greens. It is allowed to use them not only fresh, but also dried.

This component should be placed directly into the water before cooking.

Acid

If you have sausages that are too fatty, try to compensate for this by adding a little sourness – lemon juice or vinegar.
