New Year's gifts certainly include a hefty set of sweets. On holidays, few parents forbid their children from overeating sweets.
Despite the fact that this happens only once a year, doctors remind us about the harm of sweets.
It turns out that everything is not as good as many parents imagine.
Much depends on the age and activity level of the child.
Provided that there is sufficient physical activity, one or two candies can be eaten per day for children up to adolescence and two or three candies for a teenager, said Ismail Osmanov, chief pediatrician of the Moscow Department of Health, chief physician of the Z. A. Bashlyaeva Children's City Clinical Hospital, in an interview with MIA " Russia Today ".
At the same time, the expert reminded about reasonable consumption of sugar.
In particular, a first-grader’s daily diet may contain no more than 45 grams of sugar.
The diet of a primary school student should be limited to 58 grams, and that of a teenager to 67 grams of sugar.
But in any of these cases, parents should remember that any person’s diet includes added sugar, which must also be taken into account when calculating the norm.
