Marsh cranberries contain a lot of vitamins, minerals and other useful substances, which is why it is recommended to eat them during a cold or for the purpose of preventing it.
In addition, the berry has a positive effect on the heart and blood vessels, as well as on the genitourinary system.
Despite the listed benefits, not all people should enjoy cranberries, and here's why.
Contraindications to the use of cranberries
Anyone who suffers from gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer and gastritis, unfortunately, should look at other sources of vitamins due to the substances in cranberries.
This berry can only be eaten in a state of remission and in the absence of a special diet.
The restriction also applies to people with oxalate kidney stones – they should not overdo it on ascorbic acid and vitamin C.
How much cranberry can you eat
The norm of berries for a healthy person is up to 150 g of cranberries per day. If we are talking about athletes or people with weakened immunity, this amount can be increased to 250 g.
Please note: because cranberries are too sour, they can even damage tooth enamel. To avoid negative consequences, brush your teeth or rinse your mouth after eating another portion of cranberries.
