As the doctor noted, it is necessary to wash fruits, vegetables, greens and fish. However, meat does not need such a procedure.
He explained that such a process does not destroy pathogenic bacteria, but only spreads them with water droplets.
"This type of processing of poultry meat increases the risk of salmonella contamination," the scientist said during a conversation with the press.
Bystrov added that heat treatment is sufficient. The temperature should be no less than 75 degrees.
In addition, the specialist emphasized that you should not wash eggs before storing them.
You need to wipe them with a dry paper towel. But it is advisable to wash such a product before cooking.
