Pork fat is a very healthy product, but not everyone can eat it.
We tell you who needs to exclude lard from their diet and why.
Who shouldn't eat lard?
Firstly, children under 3 years of age and elderly people over 70 years of age should not eat lard.
Lard is a concentrate of fats; its digestion requires mature enzymes and normal functioning of the gallbladder.
In small children, digestion is still imperfect, and older people often have problems with bile secretion.
Since digesting lard increases the load on the pancreas and liver, it is also contraindicated in cholecystitis, acute pancreatitis, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, and exacerbation of gastritis.
