Walnuts are a tasty and incredibly healthy product that contains potassium, magnesium, zinc and many vitamins.

Of course, every gourmet wants nuts to retain their benefits and aroma for a long time.

However, improper storage does not allow achieving this result.

Many people leave a bag of walnuts in a cupboard or right on the kitchen counter. This is not a good idea, especially if you won’t be able to eat the product in the next few days.

It is advisable to store nuts in the refrigerator. Or more precisely, in the freezer.

Why Freeze Walnuts

Freezing is a guarantee that the product will retain its beneficial properties and bright taste for a long time.

Storing at low temperatures will not only help ensure that the nuts retain vitamins and important microelements, but will also prevent the appearance of excess flavor.

Thus, thanks to freezing, the product will not become bitter. And this often happens when storing nuts in a cupboard or on the table.

How to Freeze Nuts Properly

First, the product must be peeled. The kernels must be placed in a plastic container.

The container must be tightly closed: no air should get inside.

The filled container should be placed in the freezer. Now the product will definitely not spoil or become bitter.

Nuts should not be heat treated before being placed in the freezer. Only raw products can be frozen.
