Unfortunately, when buying products, we often do not properly study the information about them, which is usually presented on the labels.
In the end, we buy a "pig in a poke". Like in a lottery: you might get lucky and enjoy the taste of a quality purchase.
But you might not be lucky: it would be good if it would be okay for your health and there would be no consequences from low-quality and, even worse, expired products.
And this is not to mention the fact that, according to statistics, after shopping in stores, many people quickly gain weight, and some even become obese.
Not everything that is healthy is what it says it is
And here we strongly recommend not to fall for some of the tricks of cunning manufacturers.
The fact is that some of these companies label all their products with the characteristic “healthy product”.
Even those that are cheap and harmful analogues of the “original” product.
For example, if you want to buy cheese, and not a cheese product that is rich in vegetable fats, you should pay attention to what the product is called.
The label must clearly and distinctly indicate that it is “cheese” and not, say, “dairy” or “cheese product.”
And here’s another thing: the closer an ingredient is to the top of the list, the more of it there is in the product.
For example, you should be wary if butter appears first in the cheese.
The American Approach
The US has recently reconsidered the issue of "reading" food products.
American doctors believe that the diet should contain a maximum of healthy foods.
A diet that includes cereals, proteins, dairy products, vegetables and fruits is recommended.
And the amount of saturated fat, sugar and sodium is limited.
In this regard, in terms of nutritional value, nuts, seeds, olive oil, eggs, fatty fish (salmon) and some others are considered useful.
Experts recommend paying attention to the calorie content, amount of proteins, fats, salt and sugar on the product label.
