Many people find the very idea that some foods don't need to be washed before cooking "blasphemous".
After all, any housewife strives to make food not only tasty, but also 100% safe.
However, some products should not be washed before heat treatment.
What items do you not need to wash?
Champignons
If we are talking about young and beautiful champignons, then it is enough to simply wipe them thoroughly. Older mushrooms are recommended to be cleaned with a knife or tidied up with the hard side of a sponge.
If you ignore this recommendation, the champignons will absorb a huge amount of water. It will be difficult to prepare a truly high-quality dish based on such mushrooms.
Frozen berries
This advice is relevant for winter, but it is also worth telling. Do not try to speed up the defrosting of berries with water or for some reason start washing them.
Because of the liquid, the berries will simply stop holding their shape.
In this case, it is clearly impossible to prepare a tasty and aesthetic dessert.
Chicken and meat
If you plan to put the product in a frying pan or oven later, there is little point in washing it: the high temperature will eliminate all possible microbes.
If you are going to cook a meat product, then simply drain the first water after the liquid boils. If you ignore the recommendation, the meat and chicken will cease to be of high quality and tasty.
There is also a high probability that germs will "spread" throughout the kitchen.
