In modern kitchens, microwaves have become real helpers.
Thanks to them, you can quickly defrost food, heat it up, and cook some dishes.
But experts agree that not all food products can be heated using this kitchen gadget.
Some foods can cause significant harm to health after heating in a microwave oven.
Chicken eggs
The Internet is full of numerous recipes on the topic of "How to quickly boil an egg in a microwave oven." The methods are interesting and convenient only at first glance.
The thing is that during the heating process, the protein inside the shell expands. Against this background, the pressure increases and very hot steam is formed.
If you need to peel an egg right after microwave cooking, you may find that it simply explodes in your hands, leaving dirt and shards everywhere in your palm.
Meat
Housewives constantly encounter situations when they need to quickly defrost meat for cooking. But doing this in a microwave is a very bad idea, even if it has a defrost mode.
A sharp change in temperature and rapid melting will provoke the growth of pathogenic bacteria on the product. Using it in further preparation of a dish, there is a high probability of getting food poisoning or infection.
Potato
Heating up a portion of potatoes in a kitchen appliance is also not the best idea. The heating process promotes hydrolysis.
Potato starch exposed to it has a negative effect on the functioning of the stomach and pancreas, causing chronic ailments.
Yogurt and kefir
Not only these two products, but any fermented milk products are prohibited from being heated in the microwave.
The fact is that they contain trillions of beneficial microorganisms that have a positive effect on intestinal health.
If you heat up such a product so as not to drink it cold, taking care of the health of the throat, it will become useless. Moreover, if you overheat it, it can curdle, causing poisoning.
Sausage products
This type of product in general is harmful to human health due to hidden salt, preservatives, sugars, flavor enhancers and the use of low-quality soy instead of real meat.
However, it is still preferable to boil it than to heat it in a microwave. This method of heating releases a large amount of cholesterol acids that settle on the walls of blood vessels, increasing the risk of heart disease.
Hot peppers
Microwaving food that contains hot red peppers as an ingredient is not a good idea.
If there is a lot of pepper, there is a risk of capsaicin, a substance responsible for the spiciness of the product, being released into the air inside the microwave.
Once it accumulates in the air inside the oven, it will act similarly to pepper spray. When opening the door, you can burn your mucous membranes of the eyes and nose.
Heating food in a microwave oven is a convenient process. But not all food products can be subjected to such processing, eventually becoming dangerous to health.
