After a breakup or divorce, partners continue to have feelings for their exes for some time.
No one can immediately forget someone who was close and dear just yesterday.
The reason for this is the strong emotional connection that is established between a man and a woman during their life together.

After separation, it weakens and is gradually lost, but this takes time.
But how long does it take to look indifferently at your ex, the staff found out
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA).
The results of the work were published in the journal Social Psychological and Personality Science.
Research by scientists
The subjects were volunteers over 30 years of age. 57% of respondents were women.
All survey participants had been through a divorce on average five years ago. Then a survey was conducted.
What was found out?
An analysis of the questionnaires of respondents showed that in four years, former partners only go halfway to erasing each other from their lives.
Naturally, there were exceptions. Some people, even after many years, could not treat their exes as strangers.
It also turned out that the emotional connection lasts the longest in people with an anxious type of attachment.
People who continue to communicate with their exes after a divorce risk finding themselves in the same situation.
Having children together also has an impact on maintaining an emotional connection, but gender and new relationships have almost no effect on the emotional connection with the ex.
