A summer resident will be satisfied with the potato harvest only if the harvested vegetables are large in size and have a bright taste.
It is clear that the chances of achieving such a result can be increased by adding the necessary fertilizers.
But not all gardeners are aware that it is advisable to act before planting the garden crop.
So, the future potato bed should be sprinkled with one simple remedy.
What product are we talking about?
Before planting potatoes, it is worth scattering unburned wood waste around the area.
This recommendation was shared by the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", agronomist and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .
The specialist advises to use the product as follows: one liter of wood ash should be used for each square meter of the area.
It is not enough to simply sprinkle the bed with unburned wood residues. The product also needs to be embedded in the soil.
What does the procedure provide?
Ash contains many important components, including potassium, magnesium and phosphorus.
The garden crop receives all these elements, thanks to which the potatoes will grow very tasty.
It is also worth remembering that unburned wood residues improve the condition of the soil cover and act as a means against some pests (for example, wireworms).
