A trellis, or, simply put, a vertical lattice, is an indispensable thing for growing various climbing plants.
Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh shared advice on choosing this design.
First of all, you need to decide what will grow on the trellis.
For example, if you are buying a product for clematis, campsis or climbing roses, the best choice would be a strong frame made of wood or metal. If you plan to grow cucumbers on the trellis, you can get by with a light structure based on slats made of wood or twine.
In addition to the type of plant, its growth rate and speed, there are a few other important points that you should clarify for yourself before making a final decision.
To ensure that your garden structure lasts as long as possible, consider the amount of expected load.
Ask the seller about the expected service life (the minimum, of course, will be one season).
Finally, think about the placement area and also measure the size of the area you plan to give to the trellis.
