One of the characteristics of good beets is that they have a pleasant sweet taste.

But not all gardeners can boast of such a harvest.

Often, root vegetables disappoint owners of country plots with their not very bright taste qualities.

However, a summer resident can easily avoid this situation if he waters the garden crop correctly.

What to water beets with

Sometimes the beetroot bed needs to be watered with salt water.

This simple procedure significantly increases the chances of the formed vegetables becoming sweet.

The fact is that it is sodium chloride that promotes the accumulation of sugary substances in vegetables. In addition, the size of root vegetables increases.

How much salt to add

Excessive use of the substance can lead to a drop in the yield of garden crops and to deterioration of the soil condition.

One teaspoon of table salt per 10 liters of clean liquid is the maximum amount.

A bucket of the resulting solution should be enough for 1 m2 of area.

You can expect the desired result if you carry out “salty” watering three times during the entire summer season.
