Why tomatoes get sick: mistakes made by every second summer resident

All cultivated plants need regular watering, otherwise it is in vain to expect a significant harvest.

Watering is especially necessary for juicy vegetables, tomatoes for example. But it must be correct, otherwise the seedlings will get sick, which will again affect the harvest.

We will tell you what mistakes gardeners make most often when irrigating tomato beds.

1. Water temperature

You can't pour water from a well or a pump directly onto the beds. It's either too cold or too cool for heat-loving plants.

In this case, the root system and the plant experience serious stress, which reduces immunity and increases the risk of developing diseases.

To avoid mistakes, you need to water the seedlings with water at a temperature close to the air temperature. It is best to keep some stock in barrels.

2. Watering intensity

The same plant requires different amounts of water at different stages of development.

If we talk about tomatoes, then from the beginning of flowering the volume of water is gradually increased, and when fruiting begins, the soil under the plants should always remain moist.

3. Watering place

This culture is relatively demanding and painful. Therefore, do not invite trouble.

Correct watering is considered to be when water gets directly into the soil, away from the stem.

If you pour directly onto the roots, you can wash away some of the soil, which will cause diseases.

And of course, you can't flood the tomato beds. Otherwise, everything will rot.
