Eat 2 times a week. The healthiest fish has been named

In the ongoing debate about which fish is healthier – river or sea – many prefer the latter.

But what matters is where exactly the fish was caught – in the wild or on a farm.

Nutritionists say that the main benefits of fish are the beneficial substances it contains.

These include vitamins, protein, and polyunsaturated fatty acids (omega-3 and omega-6).

In addition, there is calcium, iodine, zinc, selenium, iron and phosphorus - an undoubted benefit for joints, the brain and the body as a whole.

Fish also slows down the aging process, reduces cholesterol levels, and stimulates reproductive functions.

Sea fish is rich in fatty acids, but river fish contains a lot of protein and iron.

It is important to know: frequent freezing of sea fish (this is done, for example, for transportation) negatively affects its nutritional properties.

River fish can suffer from pollution of rivers and lakes.

As for farmed fish, they are often grown using growth stimulants, hormones, antibiotics, and dyes.

This is what is done, for example, in relation to sturgeon, many species of salmon, trout, carp, etc.

Nutritionists recommend choosing fish that has been “fattened” in natural conditions.

Among these, attention should be paid to the following aquatic inhabitants:

– Far Eastern salmon, famous for its omega fats and other beneficial substances;
- cod - it is called a dietary fish, the liver is especially valuable;
– pollock – rich in protein and iodine;
– saury, mackerel, herring – rich in selenium and omega-3;
– flounder, hake, capelin, sardines, etc.

Among river fish, perch and pike are valued.
