The specialist included raw food diets, the Atkins diet, ketogenic and paleolithic diets among them - all of them can lead to kidney and liver dysfunction, and raw food diets can even lead to death.
The Atkins, keto, and paleo diets all require dieters to eat too much protein and fat and not eat any whole grains.
This path can lead to a deficiency of B vitamins, D and calcium.
Another disadvantage of such diets, the cardiologist believes, is that they put a lot of strain on the intestines. Pregnant women should be especially careful, since such a diet is fraught with developmental disorders in the fetus.
The doctor also recommended giving up the diet known as “Slim fast”.
According to its requirements, instead of normal food, one should consume smoothies, bars, juices and cocktails, while the diet of a healthy person should also include whole foods, and not just processed ones.
