Blood Type Diet: Why You Should Be Cautious About This Diet

Blood type nutrition was invented by the American naturopathic doctor Peter D'Adamo, according to whose theory the human body digests food better, absorbs vitamins and minerals more actively, and is less susceptible to inflammatory processes if the products are suitable for the blood type.

For example, from the point of view of the author of this type of diet, people with the first blood group are hunters, descendants of primitive people who mainly hunted and ate meat, so they should eat foods high in protein and low in carbohydrates.

The second group, respectively, are “farmers”, which means that they are recommended a plant-based diet.

The third group, according to Peter D'Adamo, is descended from nomads and can eat a variety of foods, and the fourth is mixed, so seafood, tofu and feta cheese, lamb, venison, rabbit, etc. are considered healthy for them.

Is this really true?

Many scientists treat this theory with a degree of skepticism and rightly note that there is simply no evidence base for it.

The British Dietetic Association even included the blood type diet in the top 5 worst diets due to the fact that the diet in it is compiled according to the same tables for everyone, and therefore can harm a person.

The inconsistency of D'Adamo's theory was also noted by scientists from Canada, who observed people who followed this diet for a month; no evidence was found to support the benefits of eating according to blood type.

Earlier we talked about whether it is possible to mix coffee and cocoa together.
