A festive feast with its abundance of drinks and food carries a potential danger to your figure.
If you don't want to trade your flat stomach for a life preserver around your waist, stick to the following recommendations at the table.
1. Instead of frying, bake foods. If the dish requires frying, use non-stick cookware or grill without adding oil.
2. Avoid eating foods that are too salty and spicy.
3. Add more greens to your meals. This could be dill, cilantro, parsley, basil, different types of lettuce and microgreens. By the way, you can grow them right on your windowsill.
4. Replace pork with healthier, leaner turkey thighs or drumsticks, and sausage with baked poultry.
5. As an alternative to heavy meat dishes, serve fish, rabbit and poultry.
6. Don't forget that fruits and vegetables are the best decoration for the table and at the same time the healthiest food.
7. Replace sweet wines and champagne with dry or semi-dry wine.
8. Instead of store-bought juices and carbonated drinks, make homemade compote from fruits and berries with a minimum of sugar.
9. When preparing desserts, use an additive such as cinnamon. This spice, firstly, has the most New Year's smell, and secondly, it lowers the concentration of glucose in the blood, promoting weight loss.
10. The food you plan to eat during your New Year's dinner should fit on a plate with a diameter of 25 cm (without a heap).
