To make stuffed cabbage rolls, you need to take apart the head of cabbage, and many old-fashioned cooks do this using boiling water.
The process takes a lot of time, but the leaves don’t break and the cabbage rolls always turn out well.
Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova - a cook, fourth-category baker told how to disassemble a head of cabbage for stuffed cabbage rolls.
Option 1: Oven
Place cabbage leaves in a baking bag in an oven preheated to 200 degrees.
Add some water to the sleeve, tie it and leave it for 30 minutes.
Option 2: Microwave
The whole head of cabbage is wrapped in cling film and placed in the microwave oven, turning it on at medium power for 10 minutes.
Once the head of cabbage has cooled, you can remove the leaves.
Option three: freezing
Of all the methods listed, this is the simplest.
In the case of an oven, the head of cabbage needs to be taken apart; in a microwave, it may simply not fit, and in the freezer, it just needs to be left for 12 hours.
After defrosting, the cabbage can be taken apart – the leaves will be soft and pliable.
