Every housewife has her own preferences when it comes to storing sunflower oil.
Some people prefer to put it in the kitchen cabinet, others in the refrigerator, and still others leave it on the table next to the stove.
At the same time, as the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, chef Yulia Arkhipova, claims, the storage location of sunflower oil plays an important role in maintaining its quality.

Effect of storage conditions on oil
Sunflower oil is sensitive to external factors, and improper conditions can negatively affect its taste and aroma.
The product does not tolerate bright sunlight and sudden temperature changes.
So, the refrigerator and a place on the countertop near the stove are not the best storage options.
Why are light and temperature important?
Prolonged exposure to sunlight causes oxidation processes to begin in sunflower oil. If you have ever noticed an unpleasant taste or smell coming from sunflower oil, this may be the culprit.
The optimal storage temperature for oil is from 5 to 20 degrees.
If you stick to this temperature range, your oil will stay fresh and high quality for much longer.
Ideal storage place
There is only one conclusion: the best option for storing sunflower oil is a pantry or kitchen cabinet, where it will be protected from light and temperature changes.
And, of course, make sure to close the bottle of oil tightly before storing it. Exposure to oxygen can also contribute to oxidation and deterioration of the product.
Selecting a container
Of course, the oil can be stored in plastic containers, but the expert recommends pouring it into dark-colored glass bottles.
This container better protects the contents from light and helps preserve the taste and aroma of the oil longer.
