One unexpected ingredient will help you make oven-baked lard.
According to Yulia Arkhipova, an expert at the online publication BelNovosti and a cook, you should go straight to the pharmacy to get it, because we are talking about fragrant field chamomile.
You can bake lard with this “spice” not only in the oven, but also over an open fire, always in foil.
Not only pure fat is suitable for this dish, but also the belly – fat with layers of meat.
Important: chamomile can give lard an undesirable bitterness, so the amount of this ingredient must be strictly controlled.
For 500 g of lard you need to take no more than one tablespoon of dried chamomile.
You will also need chili pepper flakes, black pepper and, of course, salt – there should be enough of it to generously rub a piece of lard.
To prepare baked lard in the oven, preheat it to 180 degrees. Bake half a kilo of lard for 35-40 minutes. Do not forget to activate the convection function.
This dish is meant to be eaten cold, cut into thin slices. It is great for snacking and is also convenient to take with you.
