In the process of working in the kitchen, many (and what’s more, all) housewives have to deal with various products and liquids that seem unnecessary or useless to us.

The marinade in which canned olives float is one of them.

However, the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, chef Yulia Arkhipova, advises not to rush to get rid of the liquid from the jar of olives.

Instead, she advises using it in an unusual way.

Instead of pouring the brine from the jar of olives down the sink, pour it into a separate container and add chopped onions.

Then put this “mixture” in a cold place – a regular refrigerator in the kitchen will do just fine.

After a few days, you get a fragrant and tasty snack - pickled onions with an original olive flavor. If you like olives, you will like this onion.

It can be served as an appetizer to various dishes such as meat, fish, chicken or simply eaten with bread. Another option for using it is in salads.
