When preparing mashed potatoes, many cooks get into trouble by serving a dry, and therefore not very appetizing, side dish.
According to the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, chef Yulia Arkhipova, there is one secret ingredient that can quickly improve the taste of mashed potatoes.
Even a small amount of it is enough to make a creamy and at the same time very filling puree.
How to Make Perfect Mashed Potatoes
To prepare a potato side dish, you need to do the following.
Boiled potatoes should be mashed with a potato masher until they become puree.
At this stage, it is customary to add milk and softened butter, while the secret ingredient is sour cream.
Try using one tablespoon of full-fat sour cream with at least 20% fat content. Do not add more, as too much sour cream can make the dish too sour.
Before serving, mix the puree thoroughly and add chopped herbs if desired.
Mashed potatoes, in the process of preparation of which sour cream was used, become more appetizing, tender and tasty.
