Did you know that beets can be cooked much faster than usual? Instead of an hour – just 15 minutes.

How to save time – suggested by the expert of the online publication “BelNovosti”, chef Yulia Arkhipova.

The main thing in this matter is not to take too large beets, you need to choose medium-sized ones.

Before cooking, rinse thoroughly with a sponge to remove the top layer. No need to clean, and the color will not be lost much.

Remember: you can’t cut off the tail, otherwise all the juice will flow into the water.

And you shouldn’t add salt, because with salt the vegetables take longer to cook.

Here's what we do. First of all, place a pot of water on the stove and bring it to a boil.

Then we add our beets there, so that the water completely covers them.

Cook over high heat without covering the pan with a lid.

If you are not happy with the smell that comes out during the process, you can add bread crust to the pan.

After 15 minutes, immerse the beetroot in cold water with ice – this will cool it down faster. It is recommended to keep it in such water for 5 to 7 minutes.

That's all, actually. After "bathing" in cold water, the beets will be peeled much faster.
