What Products You Shouldn't Buy in a Supermarket: The Unflattering Truth

In modern stores you can literally find everything your heart desires.

However, the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, chef Yulia Arkhipova, urges not to be “fooled” by the appetizing packaging and tempting promises on the label – some products on display may turn out to be far from fresh.

Grilled chicken

The first on the list of foods that are recommended to be avoided is grilled chicken.

Very often, unscrupulous sellers use marinades, spices and the cooking process itself to hide the real condition of the meat.

And the condition of the equipment used to prepare such chicken often leaves much to be desired.

Ready shashlik

Another way to hide meat that is not “fresh” is to marinate it and sell it as ready-made shashlik.

Ready-made salads

Unfortunately, we have no way of verifying that fresh chicken, sausage, cheese and other products were used to prepare the salad, not stale ones.

And the “tons” of mayonnaise that are added to the chopped ingredients are fraught with gastrointestinal problems.

Slicing cheese and sausage

As a rule, those cheeses and sausages that are close to their expiration date are used for slicing, and packaging in cling film does not help to prolong their freshness.

Earlier we told you how to make mashed potatoes tastier using a simple trick.
