When frying various dishes, why not use “secret” ingredients that can improve the taste of the dishes?
Yulia Arkhipova, an expert in the field of cooking, a chef and a fourth-class baker from the online publication Belnovosti, told us what to add to the frying pan during frying to achieve an excellent effect.
Of course, the ingredients should be used depending on the dish being fried.
Garlic or onion
Adding sliced onions and finely chopped garlic to a hot pan with butter will create the basis for a rich, full-bodied flavor. The onions will caramelize, giving the dish a sweet tint, and the garlic will add a unique aroma.
Fresh herbs
You can also add some fresh herbs to the pan, the most popular ones include: rosemary, thyme, basil and others.
Herbs should be added towards the end of the cooking process to preserve their bright flavor and aroma. If they are added at the very beginning, they will simply “burn”, and this will ruin the dish completely.
Citrus
A little juice or grated zest of lemon, lime or orange will add brightness and refreshing acidity to the dish. This trick works great with fish, seafood or chicken.
Olives or capers
Adding capers and chopped olives will give the dish a sophisticated seaside flavor. This technique is especially good for preparing pasta, salads or fish dishes.
Mushrooms
Sliced mushrooms, fried in a pan until golden brown, add rich aroma and rich flavor to a dish. They are ideal with meat, vegetables or risotto.
Caramel
A small amount of caramel added at the end of frying will give the dish a delicate sweetness and crunchy texture. This ingredient is ideal for cooking meat dishes or fried fruits. Of course, caramel should be added with caution, because an error in proportions can lead to the dish being ruined irrevocably.
