It is not always possible to salt lard so that the skin can be easily bitten off.
Yulia Arkhipova, an expert in the field of cooking, a chef and a fourth-class baker from the online publication Belnovosti, tells us what needs to be done with lard before salting it so that the skin turns out soft and tender.
How to soften lard skin
Pour some water into a deep-bottomed frying pan and place on the fire.
Place the piece of lard that you plan to salt, skin side down (the water should only cover the skin).
If the piece does not fit, you can cut it in half or into several pieces.
After the water boils, the skin should be boiled for about five minutes. Then cool the lard, and you can start salting.
Earlier, the expert told what to make from cottage cheese instead of cheesecakes or casseroles.
