Contrary to popular belief, mayonnaise is not a required ingredient in the popular salad called “Herring under a fur coat”.
The high-calorie and not very healthy white sauce can be replaced with another ingredient.
As a result, the dish will retain its tenderness, juiciness and bright taste, while becoming much less harmful.
To create an alternative to mayonnaise, a cook will need only three products: sour cream, mustard and apple cider vinegar.
An interesting culinary trick was shared by the expert of the online publication Belnovosti in the field of cooking, chef, fourth-class baker Yulia Arkhipova .
How to Make a Mayonnaise Substitute
You need to put 200 milliliters of the above-mentioned fermented milk product into a deep container.
You should also add a little (1 tbsp. is enough) mustard. Of course, you should use a paste-like product, not a powder.
Next, you need to thoroughly mix the contents of the container. Pour 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar into the resulting sour cream-mustard mixture.
The result of repeated mixing will be a not very caloric mass, distinguished by an interesting taste and easily replacing mayonnaise.
With this dressing, herring under a fur coat will turn out to be a much more appetizing and less harmful dish.
Previously, gourmets were told what would happen if you added cheese to this salad.
