Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova , a cook and fourth-class baker, told how to cook cabbage rolls from sauerkraut with meat, rice and mushrooms.
You will need:
- sauerkraut (whole) - 800 g;
- minced meat - 350 g;
- rice - 1 cup;
- champignons - 150 g;
- onion - 2 pcs.;
- carrots - 1 pc.;
- vegetable oil - 3 tbsp;
- tomato paste - 2 tbsp. l.;
- salt, pepper - to taste;
- water (broth) - 500 ml.
How to cook
1. Rinse the rice and cook until half cooked.
2. Fry finely chopped onion, coarsely grated carrots, and sliced mushrooms.
3. Mix the cooled rice with the minced meat, add 2/3 of the fried vegetables with mushrooms, salt, black pepper, and stir.
4. Separate the cabbage into leaves, cut out the veins, stuff and form the cabbage rolls.
5. Place the remaining cabbage in a saucepan, then the cabbage rolls.
6. Pour boiling water and tomato sauce over the remaining fried mixture, bring to a boil and pour over the cabbage rolls.
Simmer under a lid on low heat for one hour. Serve hot with sour cream and herbs.
