Rice porridge is one of the most popular side dishes.

The dish is loved by both unpretentious eaters and the most sophisticated gourmets.

It would seem that all the tricks of preparing this dish have long been known.

But no. It turns out there is a little life hack that not everyone knows about.

So, some cunning cooks always add a spoonful of vegetable oil to one side of the pot with rice cereal and only then fill the mass with water.

Why use a viscous ingredient? And why add it so early? The answers to these questions are very simple.

The essence of a culinary life hack

It turns out that adding vegetable oil is the key to preparing a dish with the perfect consistency.

Due to the viscous component, a thin film will appear on the surface of the cereal, which will prevent the rice grains from sticking together.

You need to do the following: pour rice into a saucepan, add oil (1 tbsp. for every 100 grams of cereal), mix the mixture thoroughly, add water and start cooking.

As a result, the dish will be crumbly. And you won’t have to experiment with the ratio of ingredients and cooking time.

Important: it is necessary to mix raw rice with oil. If you use a viscous product after adding water, the effect will not be so noticeable.
