Ingredients
The list of products consists of:
- 2.3-2.4 kg cabbage;
- 150 g carrots;
- 5 pcs. bay leaf;
- black peppercorns (20 pcs.)
To prepare the brine:
- 1 l of water;
- 2 tbsp. salt;
- 1 tbsp. honey.
It is honey that will become the “secret ingredient” that will change the taste of the dish for the better.
Preparation
1. Finely chop the cabbage and grate the carrots. Press the chopped vegetables lightly with your hands to release the juice. But it is important not to overdo it – you need to preserve the crispness of the preparation.
2. Place the vegetables in a jar with bay leaves and pepper.
3. Boil the water and then let it cool. Dissolve salt and honey in the cold liquid. Then pour the brine over the vegetables in the jar and make sure that all the air comes out of the container.
