What to do to prevent cucumbers or tomatoes left in a jar from turning sour: saving your preserves

It often happens that in an open jar of tomatoes or cucumbers there is still half of the vegetables left.

Of course, it is worth storing leftovers in the refrigerator.

But here’s the problem – often there’s no free space on the shelves of the refrigerator for a bulky can, especially during the New Year holidays.

However, experienced housewives are sure that canned goods will not go sour even without a refrigerator, although on one condition - if you keep them under pressure.

No one will argue that it is impossible to squeeze a plate through the narrow neck of a jar.

Instead, insert a plastic bag into the container and fill it with cold water to the rim of the jar. All you have to do is put the lid on the jar.

In this form, the canned goods, according to the assurances of housewives who have tried this method, can stand “without loss” for at least a month at room temperature.

This time is enough to eat crispy cucumbers and delicious tomatoes.
