Will Be Taller: What Children Should Eat to Grow Up

There are many factors that influence a child's growth.

Nature certainly plays a key role: a child's height is 80% determined by genes. But the remaining 20% depends on "external conditions", including nutrition.

The whole point is that this indicator (height) is influenced by a number of hormones, in particular, somatotropin, the so-called growth hormone, as well as hormones of the adrenal glands and thyroid gland.

Research conducted by scientists at Washington University in St. Louis has found that certain foods can significantly improve children's growth.

So, they are convinced that the best (and cheapest) breakfast for a child is eggs.

To prove this, an experiment was conducted in Ecuador with infants aged 6 to 9 months.

The participants were divided into two groups: one group was given one egg daily for 6 months, while the other group received no eggs.

The results showed that children who ate eggs were 47% less likely to be stunted and 74% were less likely to be underweight.

Lead researcher Laura Iannotti said the results were unexpectedly positive.

By the way, the researchers also took into account the possibility of developing an allergy to eggs.

To make sure that this "diet" would not harm the babies, they examined the participants every week.

Fortunately, no negative changes in the health of the subjects were found.
