Why You Shouldn't Stop Your Child from Being "Greedy": Important Advice for Parents

"Don't be greedy, always share toys and other things with your friends!"

This is exactly the recommendation that many parents give to their children.

But this approach, oddly enough, is wrong.

There is nothing good in the fact that mom and dad forbid the child to be "greedy".

The child begins to feel guilty. And the child is effectively deprived of the opportunity to manage his own things.

Why You Shouldn't Stop Your Child From Being "Greedy"

The reason is simple: things belong to the baby, and it is he who must decide whether to share with someone or not.

If you call a child "greedy", he will start to feel guilty. And this is bad: in fact, there is no guilt on the part of the boy or girl.

In addition, the child will begin to give his toys to other children, because “being greedy is not allowed.”

The problem will persist into adulthood: the person will be afraid to refuse, and others will start to “take advantage” of him.

So don't forbid your child to be greedy. But at the same time, don't praise him for not wanting to share with others.

It would be better to say the following phrase: "If you want, then share. And if you don't think it's necessary, then don't share."

Let the child manage his own things and learn to make decisions independently.
