The main mistakes parents make in children's nutrition

Firstly, eliminating meat, fats and products containing lactose and gluten from the child’s diet.

Giving up meat can lead to anemia, vitamin B12 deficiency and poor bone health.

Fats are important for the nervous system, brain, hormonal balance, and the absorption of a number of vitamins.

Eliminating gluten-containing foods from your diet in the absence of intolerance (celiac disease) can lead to gastrointestinal problems.

As for lactose, it is needed for calcium absorption. If you exclude dairy products, the child may develop a deficiency of calcium and vitamin D.

At the same time, cow's milk should not be given to a child up to 9 months. It is introduced very carefully closer to a year - no more than 50 ml per day.

Secondly, in no case should you transfer a child to adult food too early - cutlets, pasta with gravy, salty, fried foods.

“The common table” creates an increased load on the kidneys, gastrointestinal tract and urinary system of the child, ” explained Prokhorenko.

He also warned parents against using dietary supplements without a doctor’s prescription.
