Even if children do not celebrate the New Year with their parents, sitting at the festive table until midnight, they can celebrate the holiday the day before, in the evening, or on January 1.

However, doctors pay attention not only to the time frame. The most important thing is the New Year's menu.

Pediatrician and gastroenterologist Lyubov Andryan told Gazeta.Ru at what age children can eat New Year's dishes like Olivier salad.

If we talk about salads, as well as other multi-component dishes, the doctor advises to wait until 10-12 years.

What is the reason?

Such dishes and snacks are considered difficult for the digestive system.

They can be absorbed by the body of a completely healthy adult.

This salad can appear on a children's menu from the age of 10 or 12, when the digestive system is ready for the known ingredients.

Until this time, it is better not to give your child such salads to avoid indigestion, heaviness and other gastrointestinal problems.

At the same time, it is important to remember that a salad dressed with mayonnaise can be stored in the refrigerator for 6-8 hours, but it cannot be frozen.

Without mayonnaise, the shelf life is extended to 12 hours.

In addition, familiar foods should be included in the New Year's children's menu.

And dinner should be at a time that is usual for the child.
