Questions regarding co-sleeping – its appropriateness, possibility and duration – should be decided on an individual basis.
There is simply no universal answer that would suit everyone.
The best solution to this problem is to consult a pediatrician. The doctor has been monitoring the child since birth and is aware of his health and individual developmental characteristics.
Therefore, the time when it is time for the baby to sleep separately from his parents, his mother and father must determine on their own.
The optimal age at which you can begin to wean your baby from co-sleeping is considered to be one and a half years.
By this time, the child stops waking up at night to drink or eat, which only helps to quickly get used to sleeping separately.
But there are situations in which it is recommended to temporarily leave the child to sleep with the parents.
This applies to cases when the baby was born prematurely, or when the young mother has unstable lactation. If the baby does not sleep well, is teething or is sick, you should also not rush to transfer to a separate crib.
Finally, experts advise not to give up co-sleeping during the period of the child’s adaptation to kindergarten or the child will live in the same room with older children.
