"You can't do that: you're a boy/girl/older."
When criticizing a child, parents should not remind him of his age or gender.
You should only make claims against a child for the action he or she has taken.
Otherwise, the child will feel unfair: “So it turns out that I’m not allowed, but others are?”
"Don't lie!"
You shouldn't directly accuse your child of lying. It's better to draw your child's attention to the logical inconsistencies in his story.
