Creating an unpleasant atmosphere
Many children have noticed that their parents feel uncomfortable when they start behaving in a certain way. For example, screaming or crying. And the cunning child takes advantage of the situation.
A classic example: a child sees a toy in a store and asks his parents to buy it, but they refuse to do so. As a result, the child throws a tantrum right there in the store. In order to calm their son or daughter down, mom and dad buy the toy anyway.
In such a situation, it is better to ignore the child's whims. Let the child understand: such blackmail is unacceptable.
"If you love me, then..."
Some cunning children tell their parents: “If you love me, then buy me this thing.”
This is obvious manipulation. Don't try to prove your love to your baby with gifts.

“My smartphone is already old, but Petya’s…” This phrase clearly demonstrates the child’s desire to get a new device by demonstrating that the other family supposedly takes better care of the child.
You shouldn't give in to this provocation. By the way, some parents should also refuse it. The phrase "You're a bad student, but Masha is an excellent student" will have a negative effect on the child's self-esteem.
